I never thought that I would be looking back on myself...In better shape NOW ..post two pregnancies..then I w as back in highschool. I remember the days of yo yo dieting, eating one meal a day thinking that LESS would equal more wieghtloss. If only I had taken a chance back when I saw all those Beachbody infomercials. But I did what I imagine so many do...I doubted it's effectiveness, wrote it off as a "wieghtloss scam" and continued to waste money on gym membership after gym membership only stepping into the gym once..maybe twice (I ended up one year wasting away $350 on a membership only to have to BUY my way out of a contract)
This is why I want to share my journey today. I was where you may be right now. Doubtful, lazy, unmotivated..afraid to take a chance and fail. As a busy mom it was hard to make the time..yes. But in the end the excuses of not having enough time had to go! My boyfriend was already doing P90X and I was watching him get healthier and in the best shape of his life...I knew that this was perfect for me. I could stay at home with my kids, pop in a dvd while they napped and know that I was INVESTING in my health and weightloss goals.
It wasn't easy. I started off with INSANITY and SHAKEOLOGY. Now taking a chance with a nutritional shake was HUGE for me. I am a very very picky eator and very skeptical about any supplements.
I had tried my boyfriends Whey protein shakes before and immediately was repulsed. But it was talking to my coach that made me decide that it was worth my health to give it a shot!
OH boy! I should have been prepared! I was BLOWN away! THIS is healthy?! How can this be? It tastes WAY too good to be good for me! But as my boyfriend always protests, we did our research and I was putting the absolute best nutrients into my body in drinking Shakeology. It was the complete package and the gap i needed filled in my diet. The snacking late at night on ten reeses peanut butter cups (no exaggeration there, I love my PB chocolate) was replaced with Shakeology and I immediately started noticing that I was satisfied, and able to curb all my cravings!
I made the time for my INSANITY workouts as soon as my kids went to bed 7pm..The workouts were INSANE and I paused a billion times, some day I skipped or felt like I was losing the drive to keep going..but the results I was getting were so quick and drastic I just tried to focus on the GOAL..I think it's important to set realistic goals for yourself. I didn't punish myself for missing a day, i just made sure to get back at it the next day. Immediately after my workout I had my Shakeo as a reward - JUST 30 days in...I was down to 105 lbs from 128lbs!
I managed to go from picky eator, junk food indulger, out of control portion sizes and meal skipper....To eating 5 small meals a day, practicing a mostly clean eating plan and replaced my sweet tooth with Shakeology every night.
Now what?! I wanted something to continue on toning up the PREGGO belly! At 5' and two pregnancies back to back (65 lbs weightgains!) my belly had some serious stretching.....
I decided to get in on the BRAZIL BUTT LIFT challenge! I joined my coaches Challenge group and started workin' the booty! It was great though because not only was I noticing some changes in my bum and legs...I LOVE its ab workout TUMMY TUCK! Leandro does not mess around!!
